Villa is a single storey lot grouped together with other Villas (may or may not have common walls) – think retirement village. Townhouse is interchangeable with Villa, but a Townhouse has more than one storey. Though both a townhouse and a villa are inspired by ancient architecture, townhouses emphasize more on the terraces while a villa is more of a compound with complete amenities.
