Landlords do have rights! As a landlord, it is important for you to understand your rights.
Some of the rights are highlighted below:
- Screening applicants
- Collecting rent deposits and payments, as well as any deposits or payments associated with pets, parking, and/or added amenities
- Set the rental price
- Collect a bond (some maximums apply)
- Set an agreed start and finish date of the agreement
- Give the notice to conduct inspections
- Give the notice to enter the property to make repairs
- Require tenants to take good care of the property
- Apply for a bond to be withheld to cover damage or rental arrears
- Evicting tenants
